Basketball Recap: Columbia Skates Past Open Door Christian with Ease

Columbia won the last time they faced Open Door Christian and things went their way on Saturday too. The Columbia Raiders blew past the Open Door Christian Patriots 64-28. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Raiders had established a 31 point advantage.

Columbia found their leader in freshman Natalie Miller, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Alyssa Goebel was another key player, putting up nine points along with eight assists and three steals.

Columbia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Columbia's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Open Door Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-6.

Columbia will face off against Black River at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Open Door Christian, they will square off against Christian Community at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
