The Evans Trojans will challenge the Oviedo Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Evans sitting on seven straight wins and Oviedo on five.
Evans will bounce into Friday's game after beating Lake Mary, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 40-14 margin over the Rams on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won six matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.

Li'Darious Pryor was his usual excellent self, rushing for 271 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Those 271 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Omyry Hickson also helped with two scores in total.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Evans was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 353 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Oviedo and University meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Lions blew past the Titans 55-7. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Lions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Titans are ranked 320th).
Evans better keep an eye on Sebastian Galeano. He was instrumental in Oviedo's win, throwing for 154 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Emiliano Galarza, who picked up 44 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Oviedo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Laron Hargrave and Samari Chisolm. Hargrave has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last four times he's played. Oviedo received some extra help from Chisolm, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Evans' record is now 7-1. As for Oviedo, their record now sits at 6-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Evans has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 201.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Oviedo struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 165.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Evans came up short against Oviedo in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 30-20. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Lions' Brock Joyce, who rushed for 139 yards and three scores. Now that the Trojans know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
