Basketball Recap: Lathrop Comes Up Short

Lathrop was the 61-51 winner over North Platte when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lathrop Mules took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Platte Panthers on Friday.

Lathrop's defeat dropped their record down to 19-5. As for North Platte, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

The future could be bright for both Lathrop and North Platte: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Lathrop will try to hand Penney their 17th-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, North Platte will look to extend East Buchanan's six-game losing streak when the meet at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
