Softball Game Preview: Blazer Tomcats vs. Boyd County Lions

For the first time this season, Blazer will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to square off against the Boyd County Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blazer is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Blazer came up short against Hurricane and fell 11-7.

Meanwhile, Boyd County can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mercy, sneaking past 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since April 2nd.

The team relied heavily on Savanna Henderson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 contests. Jadyn Goad was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Henderson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Boyd County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The Lions are 8-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Boyd County's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Blazer, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Blazer skirted past Boyd County 3-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Tomcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
