Basketball Recap: Poinciana Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Poinciana lost against Foundation Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Eagles fell 61-51 to the Lions.

Despite the loss, Poinciana still got an impressive performance from Jordan Sykes, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 21 points. Sykes continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriel Marin, who posted 11 points.

Foundation Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jake Koziol led the charge by putting up eight points. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Waldon, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Poinciana's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Foundation Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poinciana will host Auburndale at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Bloodhounds have now posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. As for Foundation Academy, they will welcome Poinciana Christian Preparatory at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
