Woodside had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Grassfield Grizzlies on Friday as they made off with a 42-19 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolverines also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Woodside had a senior duo take command as Terris Bowen Iii rushed for 130 yards and one score on only six carries and Daniel Young rushed for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.

Grassfield is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Woodside is taking a road trip to take on Norview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grassfield, they will welcome Nansemond River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Grizzlies' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
