The Halls Red Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Alcoa Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Halls 2.6, Alcoa 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Halls can't be too worried about heading out to take on Alcoa: they just beat Cocke County at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Red Devils narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Fighting Cocks 4-3.
Alle Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Harper Bales was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Mackenzie Baker was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Alcoa waltzed into their game on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Bulldogs. The Tornadoes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matchups by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Raya Inge, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Burgess, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Alcoa lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wartburg Central didn't launched any.
Halls' record now sits at 17-5. As for Alcoa, their record is now 27-2.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Halls hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Alcoa struggles in that department as they've averaged .412. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
