Baseball Recap: Airline Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

While Airline didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Byrd Yellow Jackets on Saturday. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Yellow Jackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Airline is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Byrd and nudges their season record down to 10-15-1.

Airline will have a chance to go back-to-back against Byrd: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
