Wachusett Regional waltzed into their match  on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by  a  3-0 margin over the Hudson Hawks. The Mountaineers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hawks, too.
 While Wachusett Regional won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the  second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 26-24,  25-13.
Wachusett Regional can attribute much of their success to  Julia Vettese, who  had 11  digs and three  aces. What's more,  Vettese posted three  assists, the most she's  had since back in October of 2024.
 Vettese wasn't the only good servers: Wachusett Regional  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 17  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least five  aces in seven consecutive  matchups.
Wachusett Regional's record is now 7-2. As for Hudson, they now  have a losing record of 4-5.
 Hudson has already played their next contest,  a  3-0  loss against Minnechaug Regional on the 27th. Hopefully Wachusett Regional paid attention to the Hawks'  match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Hawks  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
