Basketball Recap: Chaney Victorious

Howland came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Chaney, but Alyssa Brown wouldn't allow it. The Chaney Cowboys managed a 49-45 win over the Howland Tigers on Saturday thanks in part to Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Chaney's points.

Chaney's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Howland, they dropped their record down to 6-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Chaney and Howland could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Chaney (ranked 162nd) will meet Harbor Creek (ranked 49th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Howland will face off against Green at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 216 places (227 vs. 11).
