Basketball Game Preview: Lake Washington Kangaroos vs. Issaquah Eagles

Lake Washington hasn't had much luck against Issaquah recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lake Washington Kangaroos are taking a road trip to face off against the Issaquah Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Lake Washington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Woodinville, who was ranked second at the time (Lake Washington was ranked third). Lake Washington fell to Woodinville 56-51. The contest marked the Kangaroos' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Issaquah entered their game against Redmond on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Issaquah fell just short of Redmond by a score of 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since December 6, 2023.

Issaquah's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3. As for Lake Washington, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-2.

Lake Washington came up short against Issaquah in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 52-48. Can Lake Washington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
