Softball Recap: Fairborn Skyhawks vs. Centerville Elks

After flying high against Bellbrook last Monday, Fairborn came back down to earth. The Fairborn Skyhawks lost 8-1 to the Centerville Elks on Wednesday.

For Centerville's part, Hayley Arnold spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. Arnold has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Lillie Hopf was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Ardyn Hopf was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
