Softball Game Preview: Eunice Bobcats vs. LaGrange Gators

Eunice is a perfect 4-0 against LaGrange since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bobcats will challenge the Gators at 4:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Eunice has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while LaGrange will arrive with three straight wins.

On Tuesday, Eunice didn't have quite enough to beat DeRidder and fell 8-7.

Eunice got a massive performance out of Lailynn Simon, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Eva Sattler, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask LaGrange). Everything went their way against Washington-Marion on Tuesday as they made off with a 24-5 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Eunice's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for LaGrange, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Everything went Eunice's way against LaGrange when the teams last played back in March of 2025, as Eunice made off with a 19-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
