Soccer Game Preview: Roosevelt vs. San Joaquin Memorial

The Roosevelt Rough Riders will square off against the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Roosevelt was able to grind out a solid win over Hoover, taking the game 3-1. Given the Rough Riders' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 428th, while the Patriots are ranked 885th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, San Joaquin Memorial sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Sanger West on Thursday. The Panthers' winning goal came courtesy of Diego Heredia.

San Joaquin Memorial's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13-1. As for Roosevelt, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8-1.

Roosevelt was able to grind out a solid win over San Joaquin Memorial when the teams last played back in January, winning 2-0. Will Roosevelt repeat their success, or does San Joaquin Memorial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
