Baseball Recap: Prince of Peace Beats Lakehill Prep for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Prince of Peace had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Lakehill Prep on Wednesday. The Prince of Peace Eagles put the hurt on the Lakehill Prep Warriors with a sharp 17-3 win. Considering the Eagles have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Briske made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Orender, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. Tripp Wilcoxson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lakehill Prep, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Prince of Peace didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-6 tie against Shelton on the 7th. Lakehill Prep will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Harvest Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on March 17th.
