Basketball Recap: Topsail's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Topsail had won five straight games and Riley Trimble did her part to make it six on Friday. The Topsail Pirates came out on top against the West Brunswick Trojans by a score of 55-43 thanks in part to Trimble, who went 9 of 16 on her way to 21 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Ryan Lambert was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.

Despite the loss, West Brunswick still got an impressive performance from Saniya Stanley, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jariana Bethea, who posted 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Topsail is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for West Brunswick, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-11.

Topsail will welcome Hoggard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoggard will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Topsail surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Brunswick, they will host Ashley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Brunswick has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
