Basketball Game Preview: Lancaster Eagles vs. Highland Bulldogs

Lancaster is 0-10 against Highland since January of 2020 but things could change on Monday. The Lancaster Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Highland Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lancaster is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They were beaten by Knight 84-57. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 803rd, while the Hawks are ranked 200th).

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Highland over Antelope Valley in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Highland blew Antelope Valley out of the water with a 72-34 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bulldogs had established a 27 point advantage.

The victory made it two in a row for Highland and bumps their season record up to 11-14. As for Lancaster, their loss dropped their record down to 9-17.

Lancaster might still be hurting after the 58-36 defeat they got from Highland in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Lancaster avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
