Football Recap: Pope John Paul II Extends Winning Streak to Four

Pope John Paul II had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Owen J. Roberts Wildcats 27-7. Pope John Paul II might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Tj Dozier produced another solid effort throwing for 180 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 66 yards. Those three passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Brandon Deangelo got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pope John Paul II was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 221 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 158 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Pope John Paul II didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Zahaid Edwards-Boone and Deangelo. Deangelo got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
