Recap: Viewmont Vikings vs. Clearfield Falcons
It was a good run, but the Viewmont Vikings unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clearfield. Viewmont was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clearfield apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2020.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mary Carr, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayla Stout, who scored eight points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Xiyah Yarbrough, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and six steals for Clearfield. Yarbrough continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Wyaskett, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Viewmont's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Clearfield, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Viewmont will take on Roy at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Roy is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Clearfield, they will be playing at home against Northridge at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Northridge is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
