Softball Recap: Santa Fe Trail Takes a Loss

Santa Fe Trail was the 9-7 winner over Holton when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. Santa Fe Trail wound up with the same score they had in their last game (9-7), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Peyton Ganger was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kailyn Claypool, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Santa Fe Trail's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Holton, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Santa Fe Trail will host Perry-Lecompton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Holton, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Sabetha at 4:30 p.m. on April 7.
