Basketball Recap: Ben Cashen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Thomas Jefferson School over Mississippi Valley Christian

Thomas Jefferson School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mississippi Valley Christian Warriors. The Titan lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 83-22 score last time.

Several Titan players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ben Cashen, who posted eight points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Albano, who earned 11 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Thomas Jefferson School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Thomas Jefferson School's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Mississippi Valley Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 3-11.

Thomas Jefferson School has already played their next game, a 50-37 win against Rivers of Life Christian on the 30th. As for Mississippi Valley Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-50 defeat against Liberty Christian Academy on the 28th.
