Softball Game Preview: North Mason Bulldogs vs. Port Angeles Roughriders

North Mason hasn't had much luck against Port Angeles recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Roughriders at 4:15 p.m. North Mason is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Saturday. North Mason came up short against Ellensburg, falling 13-3.

Jenna Markuson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sydnnie Imlay, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Port Angeles came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Buccaneers.

Port Angeles pushed their record up to 9-1-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for North Mason, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4-1.
