Baseball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

If Liberty was feeling good fresh off their 17-10 takedown of Rampart last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lancers came up short against the Rams on Saturday, falling 17-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lancers have suffered against the Rams since May 27, 2021.

Liberty has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Rampart, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-8.

Liberty and Rampart could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Lancers will square off against Pine Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (127 vs. 6). Meanwhile, Rampart (ranked 190th) will meet Cheyenne Mountain (ranked third) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
