Volleyball Recap: Pleasant Grove Takes Down Downey in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Pleasant Grove walked away with it. They blew past the Downey Knights 3-0 on Wednesday.

Pleasant Grove never let Downey on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-22, 25-18.

Pleasant Grove pushed their record up to 17-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Downey, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-9.

Looking ahead, Pleasant Grove will look to defend their home court on Friday against Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. The Marauders will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. Downey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
