Baseball Recap: East Troy Trojans vs. Wilmot Panthers
East Troy extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 14-9 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wilmot Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 5-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.
East Troy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Pluess, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.
As for Wilmot, they moved to 10-17 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 6th.
On Wilmot's side, they got a great performance from Nolan Sanew as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. What's more, Sanew posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.
Looking ahead, East Troy will face off against St. John's Northwestern Military Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilmot does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
