Riverside hasn't had much luck against George Washington recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Warriors will square off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Riverside is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Riverside had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Capital on Monday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Haylee Mullins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lydia Davis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Starr Hudnall, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Riverside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Capital only posted a batting average of .250.
Scott typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday George Washington proved too difficult a challenge. They skirted past the Skyhawks 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since April 1st.
Lauren Ballard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits.
On the hitting side, George Washington's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Izzie Casto, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Riverside's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for George Washington, their record now sits at 10-6.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Riverside hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .415. However, it's not like George Washington struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
