Palmetto is 8-1 against South Dade since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will host the Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Palmetto has three straight victories, South Dade has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Palmetto is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Coral Gables 43-0. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 299th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, South Dade came up short against Columbus on Thursday and fell 42-34. Even if the Buccaneers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Palmetto's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for South Dade, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Palmetto against South Dade when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 34-6 win. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buccaneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
