Basketball Recap: Corning Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Corning, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the Anderson Cubs by a score of 48-36 on Saturday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-40 back in December of 2024.

Jeff Mendros was his usual excellent self, going 11 of 21 on his way to 23 points along with eight boards and six assists.

Corning's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Anderson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Corning Cardinals duke it out with the Oroville Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Anderson, they will square off against Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Anderson is facing Lassen at the right time seeing as Lassen is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
