Baseball Recap: Colfax Comes Up Short

Colfax was the 4-0 winner over Bear River when they last played one another on Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Falcons fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 2-1 on Friday.

Paolo O'Brien was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, Colfax saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler McCabe, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Colfax's loss dropped their record down to 10-10-1. As for Bear River, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-9.

Coming up, Colfax will head out to take on Wheatland at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bear River, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Burbank at 4:00 p.m.
