Softball Recap: Del Valle Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Del Valle and Lake Travis, and Lake Travis kept the tradition alive. The Del Valle Cardinals lost 8-1 to the Lake Travis Cavaliers on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Del Valle's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Lake Travis, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 9-5-1.

Coincidentally, Del Valle and Lake Travis will both be playing Dripping Springs the next time they take the field. Lake Travis will head out to face Dripping Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Del Valle will host them at 7:00 p.m. on March 14th.
