Basketball Recap: Schurr's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Schurr came into Monday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Simi Valley Pioneers on Monday, sneaking past 58-56.

Simi Valley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Andrew Oglivie, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 10 points in addition to six boards and three steals, and Trevor Hiscocks, who posted six points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. Hiscocks is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Joaquin Cunanan was another key player, putting up six points.

Schurr's win bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Simi Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

After both having extra time off, Schurr and San Gabriel will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 5:00 p.m. on January 13th. As for Simi Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 75-65 defeat against Grant on the 2nd.
