Baseball Recap: White County's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

White County can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Stone Memorial Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since March 10th.

Wyatt Dilts looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cole Gentry, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for White County: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-14 otherwise. Austin Pionke was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles.

White County picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 9-15. As for Stone Memorial, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7.

White County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
