Volleyball Preview: Hutchinson Salthawks vs. Maize Eagles
Hutchinson has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will welcome the Maize Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Hutchinson was able to grind out a solid victory over Newton, taking the game 2-0.
Hutchinson never let Newton on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-15.
Meanwhile, Maize made easy work of Newton on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The match marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season.
Maize was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21, 25-10.
The win got Hutchinson back to even at 11-11. As for Maize, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season.
