Recap: Rome Free Academy vs. Nottingham

Nottingham couldn't get the job done on the road in its prior matchup, but it took care of business at home againt Rome Free Academy. Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Nottingham beat Rome Free Academy 40 - 34 last week. The teams were tied 14 - 14 at the end of the first half, but Nottingham pulled away in the second.

Despite Rome Free Academy's defeat, the squad still enjoyed a top-notch performance from sophomore Justin Swavely, who threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns.

Rome Free Academy's record fell to 1-7 after the loss. It is on an unfortunate four-game losing streak. The win got Nottingham up to 3-5.

The two teams have their sights set on raising those records in their upcoming games. Rome Free Academy will look to defend its home turf against West Genesee this Wednesday at 6:00 PM. Meanwhile, Nottingham will battle it out against Steinert on Saturday at 12:00 PM. The team will be hoping to continue its now three-game trend of scoring more points each week than the last.
