Football Recap: Lexington Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lexington fell victim to Dutch Fork and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Silver Foxes and fell 49-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Silver Foxes are ranked third).

Jaxon Knotts was his usual excellent self, rushing for 54 yards and two scores, while also throwing for 262 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes for Dutch Fork. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Knotts a new career-high. Sheldon Shine was another key player, rushing for 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries.

Lexington dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Dutch Fork, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Meanwhile, Dutch Fork is set to challenge their familiar foe River Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Quintin Wilson and Hayden Myers.
