Softball Recap: River Takes a Loss

If River was riding high fresh off their 15-6 takedown of Tyler on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pilots lost 17-7 to the Caldwell Redskins on Monday. The Pilots haven't had much luck with the Redskins recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

River saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Wohnhas, who went 1-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. Another was Kaylee Hagan, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

River's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Caldwell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

River didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-4 victory against Bellaire on the 22nd. As for Caldwell, they have also already played their next game, a 4-2 win against Buckeye Trail on the 22nd.
