Basketball Recap: Piggott Comes Up Short

Piggott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They fell 65-52 to the Rector Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Mohawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Cougars are ranked 131st).

Piggott's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Rector, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Looking ahead, Piggott will challenge Hoxie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rector, they have already played their next match, a 63-41 defeat against East Poinsett County on the 7th.
