Basketball Recap: Bunn Falls Despite Big Games from Ny'lah Mitchell and Makayla Richardson

Bunn lost against Franklinton back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bunn Wildcats fell 43-30 to the Franklinton Red Rams. The Wildcats' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Bunn's loss came despite strong showings from Makayla Richardson and Ny'Lah Mitchell. Richardson posted 17 points and seven steals, while Mitchell almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. That was a full 56.7% of Bunn's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Bunn's record now sits at 7-10. As for Franklinton, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-8 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bunn will take on Southern Nash at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklinton, they will square off against Roanoke Rapids at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
