Basketball Recap: Westwood Comes Up Short

If Westwood was feeling good fresh off their 51-29 takedown of Gwinn last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Westwood Patriots took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ishpeming Hematites. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Hematites: they've now lost seven in a row.

Westwood's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Ishpeming, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Westwood will square off against Houghton at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Houghton will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Westwood surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ishpeming, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Iron Mountain at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Ishpeming is facing Iron Mountain at the right time seeing as Iron Mountain is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
