El Dorado posted their closest victory since May 3, 2024 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Amador Buffaloes, sneaking past 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Buffaloes on Tuesday, they had to take a 10-9 loss.

Gavin Ashton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, JJ Allen was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Hayden Ozenne, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

El Dorado now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Amador, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12-1.

El Dorado didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-1 win against Union Mine on the 29th. As for Amador, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Bear Creek on the 26th.
