Volleyball Recap: Jackson-Milton Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Jackson-Milton and Monroeville squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Jackson-Milton had to settle for second. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 3-0. The Bluejays' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-16, 25-16.

Jackson-Milton's offense was headlined by Sarah Murphy and Peyton Ford, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Emma Johns and her 18 assists. Murphy and Ford were also some pesky defenders, as each blocked three attacks.

Addison Homan was nothing short of spectacular for Monroeville: she had 31 digs and four assists. Homan is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last 28 games she's played dating back to last season.

Jackson-Milton's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Monroeville, the victory (which was their 21st in a row) raised their record to 23-2.

Jackson-Milton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monroeville, they will face off against Open Door Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
