It was fun while it lasted, but Doniphan West's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Friday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Troy Trojans an easy 57-35 victory. The match marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Doniphan West fell to 5-1. As for Troy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Doniphan West will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Linn at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Troy will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Jackson Heights on January 7, 2025.
