Basketball Game Preview: Wakefield Wolverines vs. Independence Patriots

The Wakefield Wolverines will face off against the Independence Patriots at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wakefield will be strutting in after a win while Independence will be coming in after a defeat.

Wakefield is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with an 81-70 victory over Leesville Road on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

Meanwhile, Independence's undefeated season came to an end after six games on Tuesday. They fell to Palisades 51-45. The match marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Wakefield will have to contain Daniel Waritay as he made an impact in Independence's last game. He went 8 of 16 en route to 20 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lusemo Macharia, who posted six points and nine rebounds.

Independence's loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-1. As for Wakefield, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
