Softball Recap: Clay County Takes a Loss

Clay County had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 6-8 to make it five. They lost 15-0 to the Sissonville Indians. The game marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

As for Sissonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. The result was nothing new for Sissonville, who have now won 15 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For Sissonville's part, they got a massive performance out of Mackenzie Casdorph, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Casdorph a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Ellis, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Clay County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sissonville, they will face off against Scott at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Skyhawks have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
