Soccer Game Preview: Silsbee vs. Vidor

The Silsbee Tigers will face off against the Vidor Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Silsbee took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Hargrave. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Tigers were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Vidor had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their defense stepped up to hand Hamshire-Fannett a 3-0 shutout on Saturday. Diego Sanchez-Rebollo had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble the Pirates got from the refs.

Vidor hit Hamshire-Fannett with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Dylan Davis, Troy McElveen, and Sanchez-Rebollo.

Silsbee's win bumped their record up to 2-6-1. As for Vidor, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

Silsbee might still be hurting after the 6-1 loss they got from Vidor in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Silsbee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
