Football Recap: Cooper City Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Cooper City's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They snuck past the Dillard Panthers with a 12-6 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Cowboys' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Panthers are ranked 108th).

Cooper City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Sierra Minikus.

Cooper City's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9. As for Dillard, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cooper City will venture away from home to challenge McArthur at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Cooper City's offense hasn't had much luck over their past five matches, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around. As for Dillard, they will head out on the road to face off against Miramar at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
