Baseball Game Preview: American Leadership Academy Patriots vs. Spring Valley Vikings

The American Leadership Academy Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Spring Valley Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Spring Valley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on American Leadership Academy, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with ten defeats in a row, American Leadership Academy turned things around against Pelion on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Panthers 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since March 26th.

Landon Tolley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Seth Sturkie, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Spring Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-2 to Chapin.

Spring Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Smoak, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

American Leadership Academy's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 7-15. As for Spring Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.
