East Carteret gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They really took it to the Ocracoke Dolphins for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-19 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mariners in their matchups with the Dolphins: they've now won four in a row.

East Carteret's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lyrik Oliver, who posted 15 points. Katie Goodwin was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Ocracoke is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. East Carteret won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Carteret at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ocracoke, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Holmes at 6:00 p.m. on December 2.
