Football Game Preview: Melrose Golden Wildcats vs. Westview Chargers + Official Tickets

Two dominant signal callers in Thomas Heffner and Graham Simpson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Melrose Golden Wildcats will head out to face off against the Westview Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Melrose sitting on ten straight wins and Westview on 11.

Melrose is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Maplewood with a sharp 30-8 victory. The Golden Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 22 points or more this season.

Melrose found their leader in sophomore Heffner, who rushed for 114 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Lamarius Cooper got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 66 yards.

Meanwhile, Westview humbled Westmoreland with a 55-7 victory. The Chargers are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout on Friday was the tenth matchup they've won by 20+ points this season.

Westview's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Melrose, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Melrose beat Westview 28-21 in their previous matchup back in November of 2015. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
