Soccer Recap: Aptos Comes Up Short

Aptos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Santa Cruz Cardinals. The Mariners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Aptos' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1. As for Santa Cruz, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4-1 record this season.

Aptos does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Cruz, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Santa Cruz duke it out with the San Lorenzo Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
